Join us in the Barking Dog Arts Gallery on June 21st from 6-8pm for the opening reception for our latest exhibit featuring Lane Lones. Lane's sculptures will be on view through August 3rd. Light refreshments will be provided.

About the artist: Lane Lones is a Huntsville artist who grew up in Moores Mill, where the schools art teacher only visited once every three months. Lane is influenced by his mother who was always crafting and sewing, and his wife, who shared her art school knowledge from the beginning of their relationship. Lane began working with metal and welding out of a creative curiosity, and his first fabrication was a large scale bike. He then created a series of animals and insects made out of various tools. This current robot series was inspired by some metal donated from a friend, a muffler that immediately sparked the idea, and his wife encouraged him to create a full series. Lane uses a mig welder, grinder, and acetaline torch to find shapes in existing tools and scrap metal and reanimate them in interesting ways.
